Kayaking was my first ‘outdoor sport’. A sport that took me to some insanely cool places & met some incredible friends. Its given me the highest highs & the lowest lows. Its one of those ‘weather dependant’ sports & therefore, when the conditions are right, you have to be prepared to drop everything & drive wherever the water is.
Regrettably, I’ve pressed pause on kayaking. Right now, for me personally, the risks outweigh the rewards. Its one of the most dangerous sports I’ve ever partaken in. Due to the dynamic moving water environment, its only once the accident occurs that the danger begins. My participation might be on hold, but my stories & memories still remain.

Adventure in the Scottish Highlands
So I’ve just returned back to normality after a week away, seeking both answers and adventure in the Scottish Highlands. It’s been a hectic summer – but for all the right reasons, this summer has been one to remember. From my journey of 1000 miles across the alps, to successfully adding my name to Everesting…

Alpine Dreaming: Sun, Mountains and Whitewater
Not quite Mr. Beans holiday to France, but not far off. 7 dirt bag kayakers alpine dreaming, in search of sun, mountains and whitewater. After paddling the steep Italian creeks, but not having much luck with sunshine, it didn’t seem right to head back to the UK without at least a little time to chill…

Alpine Kayaking: A European Roadtrip
With the spring snow melt filling up the rivers across the European Alps, the playground is formed for the alpine kayaking season. Smash and Grab Adventurous Weekend in North Wales
A weekend with nothing in the diary and a stunning spring weather forecast is the perfect recipe for an adventurous weekend in North Wales. New Zealand!
Thursday 4th January! So we’re back inland and exploring the Tongariro National Park – or I wish that I could currently say I am writing my latest blog post coming from yet another cool place; i.e. the base of the three volcanoes at the heart of the park; the mountains Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu. Instead…

Every once in a while, we all need a break. A break from the hustle and bustle and stress of every day life. Where better to head for a week, than the Scottish highlands. A vast rural landscape, with so many more mountains than people, what better way to refresh & recalibrate, than some time…
